Cessna C525 Citation familiarization training

The EASA type rating and license endorsement list merges all variants of the Cessna C525 Citation into one type rating endorsement - C525.

However, the EASA type rating and license endorsement list also specifies what is required to transit from one variant to another. There are two groups of the Cessna C525 Citation variants for which the C525 type rating holder is required to undertake only the familiarization training.

Familiarization training is required by FCL.710 "In order to extend his/her privileges to another variant of aircraft within one class or type rating, the pilot shall undertake differences or familiarisation training. In the case of variants within a type rating, the differences or familiarisation training shall include the relevant elements defined in the operational suitability data established in accordance with Part-21."

If a pilot - a holder of Cessna C525 Citation type rating moves from CJ1+ to CJ2+ or CJ3, they do not need additional differences training.

In order to move to the variants which are separated by the horizontal line, an additional Cessna Citation differences training and checking is required. All variants not separated by the horizontal line do not require the differences training, however they require Cessna Citation familiarization training.

Familiarization training required within the variants (no differences training required):

  • 525 – CJ1+
  • 525A – CJ2+
  • 525B – CJ3

Same procedure applies for the older variants

  • 525 – CJ1
  • 525A – CJ2

To transfer from or to any other variants of the Cessna C525 Citation family variants, the additional - differences training is required by the EASA Operational suitability data.
